The Olive Garden

Okay, as promised, this is the Olive Garden Update!

Mommy let Andy invite Rachel, so that made eight of us, and our van only holds seven, so we had to take two cars! When we got there, it was so crowded that we had to park across the street at Bob's. (
btw, I just realised that if you click on the photos, you will get a BIG version of it.)

We've never been to the Bob Evans. It doesn't look like many other people have either because they had plenty of parking places, unlike the Olive Garden.

We had to wait about 45 minutes to get in, so here we are waiting outside.

Jonathan wanted Daddy to take a picture of him with 'his' bike....

Our pager finally went off, and we got to go inside. This is a picture of our menu.

We all ordered something to drink, and Daddy got us some Bruschetta as an appetiser.
Brad, our waiter corrected Daddy and said 'brushetta'. Perhaps Brad didn't do well in 'Shool'?
Daddy, always courteous, didn't reply, even though he's had two full semesters of Italian.
Whatever it's called, it was good, and was made with Chewbacca bread.

Amanda didn't care for the Chewbacca bread, so here she is eating the topping.

Brad also made a major service faux pas by bringing
ME my refreshing beverage in a children's cup!
Brad, you're flirting with a serious tip deduction here!

If you click on this picture of me, you can look behind me and see a 'redneck'.

This is Cletus. He, too, is a redneck/hick/yokel/etc...

You can tell he's a redneck, because he's inside, at the dinner table, and he is wearing a ball cap. While I may allow that it's possible that he may not be a redneck, I stand Firm on the statement that he has no manners based on the presence of the aforementioned ball cap.

After beverages, and appetisers, our salad and bread sticks came. Here's a bread stick.

Here's our salad.

If you dont know, the salad usually has a couple of Pepperoncini, or Tuscan, peppers in it.
Pepperoncini are mild and sweet with a slight heat to them, and are commonly pickled. Andy and Jonathan thought they would be smokin' hot, so since Rachel was there and Andy needed to show off, he and Jonathan dared each other to eat one. I was going to post the video here, but it's pretty anticlimactic!

Then our food came!
Here is my pizza.

Here is Jonathan's gnocchi with chicken.

Daddy had steak and fettuccine.

Everything was very good. Here's me and Brad giving the 'thumbs-up' after the meal.

Of course, we couldn't eat it all, so we ax'ed Brad to bring us some boxes!

Thanks Brad! This will make me a fine dinner after church tomorrow!

We were stuffed, and couldn't eat another bite....Right!

Look at this mess!

When you're here, you're family, so.....
Clean it up Brad!

I wouldn't want to flaunt my ignorance of Italian by entering the bruschetta debate, but I saw this recipe online and thought of you. Maybe you'd like to give it a try. Your dad might make you pronounce bruschetta correctly before he'll take a bite, however, so you better brusch up on your Italian. Oh, and I agree, baseball caps at the table are so-o-o-o tacky. It is a shameful reflection on Southerners. Sadly, I see it everywhere in the south.
